Wedding decorations part 2

So since i was out west today, i thought i'll visit Holstens showroom. When i got there, it was a grubby old warehouse but when i looked inside, there were some nice wedding stuff. They are wholesale company who sell big amount of wedding stuff from sashes to candles.

I'm thinking of buying the satin sash @1.20 each rather than hiring them. But centrepieces gave me a pretty good deal.

Basically, this is what i'll be getting for $710 (creations by morris's quote is very close to this)
- 100 chair covers + sashes
- 10 sherpherd crooks
- 12 vintage bottles
- 50 tealights + candles
- 10 table runners (guest)
- 1 head table runner

Markovina is renting out chair covers and sashes for $500. If i go with them, it may be cheaper. I'll go check out their sash color next saturday

Cake revisited

Right so jason and i were talking in the car that day and we talked about cakes and decided to change the design.
We wanted to do a two tiers cake instead with him proposing to me silhouette and eiffel tower in the background. So i had to email trusty Sondra from Sweet bites cakes with ideas. She is so accomodating and set up an appointment to discuss this idea

I met up with her today and we came up with this concept:

Excuse the poor picture as I did this in paint (primitive). Basically the orange is me and blue is jason. I haven't decided on the wordings yet but i just added it cos i thought it looked nice!

I feel like adding a little black icing bow to the top. But ill see....keep it simple is best!

Im so excited!!! Sondra is too!!!!! :)

Decorations list

I've been gathering ideas on what i want the whole wedding to look like.
Basically at the ceremony, i want shepherd crooks with bottles of flowers

I've told my florist that i'll love orange mokara orchids with roses and mixes with some greens

And on the aisle, i'll have pink/peach petals scattered along. I've envisioned the ceremony site to have a tree.

And we will hang orange/blue lanterns on the tree tied with ribbons. Hopefully i can find that tree at the venue!!

Alright so reception, this is my vision

Three vases in the middle of the guest tables of differing heights. In the middle, i will want heliconias (tall flower) with 2 side vases filled with mokara orchids and some green berries maybe.
I'm excited thinking about it as i just love this combo. We will have turquoise light blue sash with white linen.

Ok so thats the ceremony and reception sorted. What about guest book?? We considered

We loved option 2 but its too expensive. (I wanted to create a crossword puzzle to go with this as part of the program but Jason thinks its too childish) So we came up with this :

Wedding update

Wow..time flies..the clock is now 6 months and 1 day to go. What the..where has the time gone!!!


Anyway, i've managed to sell my collette dinnigan dress for USD900. I'm buying this Anne Barge dress from USA.

I'm really proud of myself because I managed to buy this dress for USD300!! And how i hunt it down is from a forum charity sale. I contacted the charity organiser and asked her about this photo i saw on the forum and voila, i got myself a deal. I had to wake up at 4am to call her though but it was all worth it. hopefully she will send it out soon
